About the Role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Category Manager - Metals. This person will be the product and market expert for product category assigned.  The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, and work with our Marketplace Team to continuously improve the steel products available on our website.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter, and a creative, critical thinking problem solver with an intense motivation to drive innovative processes, lead teams and produce high quality work in a rapidly changing environment.

 

Candidate location in Atlanta/Southeast is preferred, but we will consider exceptional candidates across the entire US.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Create a strategy for your category assigned: Work closely with the commercial team to ensure there is a comprehensive, unified approach to the category.
  • Own pricing: Conduct pricing management, analysis, along with new tool development.
  • Manage strategic partnerships: Strategically analyze and expand our Buyer/Seller Network to rapidly expand sales opportunities
  • Be a products expert: SME for Metals Products and participate in cross-functional teams involving our CRM, Website, & Sales Team.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration: Own projects using the OKR format and Stage Gate processes.
  • Gain market intelligence: Partner with necessary teams & data sources to collect and synthesize customer and market data to drive business opportunities.

  • Agility: Resourceful, resilient and proactive in fast-paced environments. Able to seamlessly alternate between various tasks and roll with the punches when things change. 
  • Collaboration: Assertive with humility—able to lead change in a positive way, and always professional under pressure whether engaging with clients or colleagues. 

 

Your Ideal Background

  • 4+ years in category management in B2B or B2C roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field.
  • E-commerce and/or Marketplace experience is highly desirable.
  • Steel Industry experience is HIGHLY DESIRED
